Lab overview
We study how animals modulate their metabolism when faced with a variety of challenges. Our general approach is integrative, combining biochemical, molecular and evolutionary biology techniques to look at how animals regulate their metabolism in response to bioenergetics stress.

Why does it matter?
All animals must always maintain adequate energy balance to survive
and thrive in variable conditions. However, while diverse organisms may opt for similar strategies to face these challenges, others face unique stressors or have unusual life histories which require specific adaptive responses. By investigating both model and unique animal species, we can then better appreciate the strategies animals employ to respond to change.
